Grandparents voice deepfake — May 2025

Scammers are using AI to clone voices of grandchildren and trick grandparents into sending money by claiming the grandchild is in trouble (e.g., arrested). They pressure victims to send money quickly via wire transfers, gift cards, or cash pick-ups.
