Ex-Sindh MPA moves court, alleges woman hid identity…

Former Sindh MPA Ghulam Rasool Unar has petitioned a court, alleging that a woman utilized AI-generated imagery to misrepresent her identity during their courtship and subsequent marriage. The legal application seeks the registration of a case against the woman, citing claims of deception, blackmail, and threats following their separation.

What happened

According to the legal application submitted by the former lawmaker’s counsel, the relationship began via social media, where the woman consistently provided AI-generated images whenever asked to reveal her face. The couple married via video call on February 23, 2026, during which the woman wore a veil, preventing the applicant from seeing her actual appearance.

Upon meeting in person after the wedding, the former MPA discovered the woman looked significantly different from the digital images he had received. While the marriage remained intact initially, the applicant distanced himself from her. Following the discovery, the woman allegedly posted false information on social media claiming that the former MPA had died. The applicant subsequently finalized a divorce on August 2.

The legal filing further alleges that after the divorce, the woman demanded millions of rupees and issued threats of blackmail and physical harm. The former MPA has since lodged a complaint with the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA). The Additional District and Sessions Judge (South) has issued notices to the SP of the Complaints Cell and the SHO of Defence, requesting a report regarding the matter.
