Gabby Petito's mother, Nichole Schmidt, expressed discomfort with the use of deepfake technology to recreate her daughter's voice in the Netflix series American Murder: Gabby Petito. While the series disclosed the use of AI voice recreation, Schmidt described the experience as 'weird' and noted a slight difference from Gabby's real voice.
