AI-generated deepfake videos distorting the likeness and voice of Fred Rogers, showing him doing and saying things inconsistent with his character, including curse-laden insults, jokes about school shootings, and lewd jokes with Tupac Shakur. The videos were created using OpenAI’s Sora. Fred Rogers Productions contacted OpenAI requesting his voice and likeness be blocked. The videos have also migrated to other platforms including TikTok and Instagram.
