In June 2026, Eric Trump publicly identified AI-generated screenshots circulating on social media as fabricated evidence of a private conversation with UFC commentator Daniel Cormier. The digital images purported to show Trump questioning the legitimacy of fighters involved in the UFC Freedom 250 event hosted at the White House.

What happened

The incident began when Daniel Cormier shared a screenshot on X, which appeared to depict an exchange with an account claiming to be Eric Trump. In the alleged messages, the account asked if any fighters on the event card were injured and whether any of the matchups were "rigged." Cormier accompanied the post with a statement expressing his refusal to stay silent regarding the integrity of the event.

Eric Trump, the executive vice-president of his father's administration, immediately refuted the claims, labeling the screenshots as "fake" and "AI-generated." Trump stated that he had never contacted Cormier and described the dissemination of the fabricated images as a "scary" development. Following Trump's public denial, Cormier deleted the original post, later questioning the intelligence of those who believed the exchange was authentic. Eric Trump thanked Cormier for the clarification after the post was removed. The incident occurred shortly before the UFC Freedom 250 event, a historic match held on the White House South Lawn to commemorate the 80th birthday of President Donald Trump and the 250th anniversary of American independence.
