A deepfake video circulated on Facebook falsely claiming a coup had taken place in France and that Emmanuel Macron had been overthrown. The video featured AI-generated visuals of a helicopter, military personnel, and a news anchor reporting on the coup. The video was traced back to a Facebook account in Burkina Faso and some videos had watermarks indicating it was generated by OpenAI's Sora 2.
