Elliston Berry and Francesca Mani were victims of deepfakes at age 14. Digitally altered nude images of themselves and friends online were generated using AI. Incidents in schools in the U.S. totalled nearly 30 over the last 20 months. First Lady Melania Trump invited Berry and Mani to a roundtable discussion on the “Take It Down Act.” On May 19, 2025, President Donald Trump signed the Take It Down Act into law to punish individuals who are abusing others through deepfakes or online sexual exploitation.
