Donald Trump Jr. deepfake (Feb 2025)

A fake audio clip of Donald Trump Jr. seemingly supporting Russia's actions in Ukraine was spread across social media. The audio, apparently generated using artificial intelligence, depicts Trump Jr. stating that the U.S. should have sent weapons to Russia instead of Ukraine. A spokesperson for Trump Jr. confirmed that the audio is "100% fake." Deepfake experts analyzed the audio and concluded it was likely AI-generated. The clip was falsely presented as being from a February 25th episode of Trump Jr.'s podcast, "Triggered." The fake audio was shared by accounts including an official Democratic Party account on X (formerly Twitter) before being deleted.
