Music streamer Deezer is flagging AI-generated songs due to a surge in music created using AI tools, which are being used to fraudulently earn royalties. Deezer has detected that 18% of songs uploaded to its platform each day are completely AI generated. Fraudsters are creating and uploading AI-generated songs to streaming platforms, trying to get them onto playlists and recommendations, and earning royalties as a result. Deezer is fighting this by flagging AI-generated content and cutting off royalty payments for AI songs used for stream manipulation. A specific case is mentioned where a man was charged with generating hundreds of thousands of AI songs and using bots to stream them billions of times, earning at least $10 million.
