The BlueNoroff APT group used AI-generated deepfake avatars and voices in fake Zoom calls to impersonate company executives and trick employees of cryptocurrency and Web3 firms into downloading malware. This malware then allowed the attackers to steal credentials, maintain persistent access, and exfiltrate cryptocurrency.
