In May 2026, Donald Trump shared an AI-generated image on Truth Social depicting several of his political opponents wearing prison jumpsuits. The post ignited controversy and raised concerns about the use of AI in political attacks.
What happened
The image, which parodied "The Brady Bunch" opening, featured doctored mugshots of Barack Obama, James Comey, Samantha Power, Susan Rice, Valerie Jarrett, James Clapper, John Brennan, and Ben Rhodes. Trump captioned the post, calling the group "bad" and "destructive." The post followed Comey's indictment for allegedly threatening the president via an Instagram post. Trump had apparently posted the same AI-generated image in July of the previous year as well. Trump has repeatedly called for his perceived political enemies to be investigated, prosecuted or arrested during his ongoing revenge tour against his critics amid his second presidency.
