What happened
Amine Raiti, an SRE, launched "Operation Dindon," a multilingual pressure campaign featuring satirical content, music, and the story of a fictional turkey trapped in cloud dependency. Raiti demands that cloud providers allow companies to cancel multi-year cloud commitments when business declines, stop charging high egress fees, and enable customers to leave proprietary cloud services without excessive costs. Raiti's campaign includes 50 AI-generated songs in genres ranging from opera to K-pop, sea shanties, and Finnish polka. The campaign also includes a 14-part satirical series called The Legend of Dindon, which targets different cloud pricing and lock-in practices.
