A teacher at an English city school has reported a hostile work environment characterized by extreme misogyny and the weaponization of AI against staff and students. The educator, who moved to the school after working in a rural environment, describes a classroom setting where students frequently engage in violent behavior, threats, and targeted harassment.

What happened

Students at the school have utilized AI technology to generate non-consensual pornographic deepfakes depicting teachers and female classmates. The harassment extends beyond digital abuse, with students openly expressing contempt for female authority and disregarding attempts at classroom management. During a police visit intended to warn students about the illegality of these deepfake activities, the students continued to interrupt, laugh, and direct verbal abuse toward the teacher. The situation escalated to the point that a police officer had to escort the teacher from the classroom. According to the teacher, the school and local authorities have struggled to effectively manage these incidents, and their union has noted that this issue has become a complex, ongoing problem across many schools in the UK since 2023.
