A 17-year-old girl, Jaylyn Lee, pleaded not guilty to eight counts of promoting an altered sexual depiction of an identifiable person without consent. Lee is accused of distributing AI-generated nude photos of 14 high school girls. The photos were allegedly created by her 18-year-old ex-boyfriend using an AI app. Lee obtained the photos from her ex-boyfriend's phone, kept them for a month, and then sent them to 17 high school students, some of whom were not depicted in the images. Police stated that the creation or possession of AI-generated nude photos isn't illegal, but distributing them is. While the victims' parents want the ex-boyfriend charged, police say he didn't break any laws because he didn't distribute the photos. Lee's next court date is January 30th.
