A Discord user harassed and doxxed a woman after baselessly accusing her of using AI-generated photos to catfish him. Despite the victim providing multiple forms of verification, including a video and group photos, the perpetrator escalated the situation by exposing her private information to their shared gaming community.

What happened

The conflict began after the victim and the perpetrator interacted for four months within a Discord gaming group. Although the victim provided various proofs of identity, the perpetrator claimed her photos were AI-generated based on inconclusive results from online detectors and a lack of reverse image search results. The perpetrator threatened to label her a catfish to the entire group, which coerced the victim into sharing her full name and phone number in an attempt to resolve the dispute.

Using this information, the perpetrator located the victim's home address and distributed it to other members of the Discord group. He also screen-recorded a FaceTime call with the victim to further his harassment. The situation was eventually addressed by a Discord moderator who removed the messages, and the victim's family member intervened by threatening to file a police report for doxxing. Despite the removal of the content, concerns remain regarding the exposure of the victim's private data to other members of the online community.
