Actors are speaking out against the use of their likenesses in AI-generated advertisements for micro-dramas. These ads often depict sexual situations that the actors did not agree to and that do not appear in the actual shows, leading to concerns about consent and reputational damage.

What happened

Several actors reported finding their faces and bodies used in misleading and sexualized promotional material. One actor, Tess Dinerstein, was shocked to see a promo for a show she was in that depicted a sex scene, despite the actual show containing no such content. Faith Orta discovered an ad on TikTok showing a simulated assault. David Eves found his likeness in a threesome scene he never filmed. Haley Lohrli received unwanted messages after ads showed her in lingerie, even though she was fully clothed in the film. The actors are now pushing for contract clauses that protect their likenesses from AI manipulation.
