What happened
The ad, originally shared on X by Housing Director Bill Pulte, featured a narrator praising Trump as the greatest housing president in history followed by an AI-generated voiceover. The audio described the American Dream as being built one home at a time and addressed the difficulty of modern homeownership. The video concluded with footage of Trump pumping his fist alongside text labeling Fannie Mae as a great mortgage corporation.
A critical discrepancy existed between the versions of the video shared on different platforms. The original clip posted to X included a visible disclaimer at the bottom stating, "The audio of President Trump is AI generated and used with permission." However, this disclaimer was noticeably absent when Trump shared the video to his 13 million followers on Truth Social.
