The BRS party has categorically denied the authenticity of these images, labeling them as fabricated using generative AI.
What happened
The incident began after a scuffle occurred outside the Telangana Assembly on Monday, September 7, 2026. Following the event, photographs surfaced that allegedly depicted BRS members misbehaving with law enforcement. The origin of these images became a point of contention; while the Information and Public Relations (IPR) department distanced itself from the release, a representative from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) confirmed the office had shared the pictures. The CMO characterized the release as unofficial, stating the images were passed to reporters personally rather than through formal channels, and explicitly denied that the photos were AI-generated.
In response, the BRS party issued a statement on X declaring the images to be 100% fake and manufactured using generative AI. BRS working president KT Rama Rao reiterated these claims during a media interaction following a meeting with Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla. He stated that the party intends to file a complaint with the Cyber Crimes police and warned that any media house or individual who circulated the images would face legal action from the party's Legal Cell. The situation remains unresolved, with conflicting accounts between the political parties regarding the legitimacy of the visual evidence.
